My Christmas List

It's that time of the year to start making your Christmas Wish List to give to Santa Claus and his Elves. This year I really don't need anything. These are all more just wants. I could live without all of them. Well except #6, I kinda need those.

#1- Sweaters. I love winter sweaters. I have 1 white one, and 3 blue ones. I think I need more colors.

#2 - Jeans. I have 2 pair I really fit in, one skinny jeans and one bootcut leg. The bootcut is getting a little worn out and a little big.

#3- I've started reading more. I would love the kindle fire. It would be easier to read on the go instead of carrying around a book.

#4- I love frogs, including kermit. I don't have an alarm clock right now besides my phone. This kermit alarm clock, iphone dock would be so hand. It would also be nice to have speakers for my phone.

#5- The Keurig is a dream come true. When I drink coffee I normally only have one cup. I don't like wasting more than I drink, but I can never seem to just make 1 cup that tastes good. (I know and I work at a coffee shop, its different there)

#6- Warm, cozy, hard soled slippers. I keep stealing my fathers. I'm he would appreciate if I had my own to wear.

Five Question Friday

It's Friday. Time to join Mama M over at My Little Life in her weekly blog hop.
1. If you had c-section do you wish you would have had vaginal? Or vice versa?
I had a vaginal birth with Aubriella. I wouldn't change it to a c-section. There are things about the birth I would change, but I would not want to do a c-section unless I medically had to for my health or my childs health.

2. If vaginal did you go drug free?
Hell NO. I lasted a few hours without the epideral. I don't deal with pain well.

3. Did you have any complications?
I was induced and between those meds and the epidural they had issues with my contractions being regular and what I was able to feel. After being in labor for 22 hours and being tired and pushing for 2 hours straight they had to use the vacuum and forceps to get Aubriella out.

4. Who was in the delivery room with you?
My then husband, my mom and his mom. He doesn't deal with blood or stress of sorts very well. It turned out it was a good thing his mother was in there since he almost passed out, so she was able to help me and calm him at the same time.
5. Did you document your labor and delivery? (Photos, videos, etc.)
We have photos from taken through out the day but nothing while i was pushing or delivering.
6. Pick the birth story of one of your children and tell us ALLLLLLLL about it! (I wrote this a month after giving birth)
I got induced at 39 weeks. On Saturday October 1, 2011 I went to labor and delivery at 5am. I got checked in, registered, put in a room, and got all ready to go. I was hooked up to monitors and the IV started. At 5:30am they started the pitocin. The plan was to start at the lowest dose and up it by 2 every 20 to 30 minutes and to check my cervix every 4 hours if not sooner. When I arrived I was 1 cm dilated, and 80% effaced.

Little by little my contractions started and I dilated to 3 cm. Since I wasn’t progressing as quickly and smoothly as they had hoped, and I was to the limit on the external monitoring of the pitocin at 3pm the Dr. came in and broke my water. Along with breaking my water I had to have internal monitoring. A half an hour later my contractions became really strong and the back labor started. I couldn’t deal with the back pain so we started the epidural and the catheter.

My contractions were not regular. They varied from either being too close together and strong enough, or strong enough but to far apart. They kept monitoring this and switching the pitocin up and down for hours while I still kept dilating. By 8pm I was getting tired and moody. I kicked everyone out of the room expect my husband. I kept trying to sleep in little naps as they kept monitoring me.

At 11:30 I was given an antibiotic since my water had been broken for 8 hours. I was almost 10 centimeters at this time also. The nurse called the Dr. to let him know. He said to call him again when I was fully dilated that he wasn’t too far away. By 1 am the Dr. had came into see how things were doing. He checked me and gave the nurses the ok for me to start pushing. When I started to push I was feeling the pain again. The anesthesiologist was called back in to give me some more meds. After pushing for close to an hour and a half the doctor brought out the vacuum. He tried the vacuum and ended up using the forceps also to get Aubriella out. She was born at 3:10am weighing 6lb 8 oz, 19 inches long.

She was put on my chest for a few minutes then taken away to be cleaned up, examined, etc. David did cut her umbilical cord. He tried to keep the scissors but the nurse took them from him. I was freezing and starting to shake and was also getting sick. I had 3rd degree tares, which took the Dr. 45 minutes to sew me up.

David was amazing in the hospital taking care of me and Aubriella. I had lost a lot of blood so I wasn’t aloud out of bed without help. I was allowed to hold Aubriella but wasn’t allowed to carry her or take her out of the crib by myself. Also with the tears and hemorrhoids I had to have help in the bathroom also.

Since being home I ripped part of my incision and still have to be careful with what I do.

Disney Baby

If you at my house any morning, don't expect to watch what you want to watch. The only channel that is on in the morning is the Disney Channel. Aubriella is a Disney Jr baby.

Aubriella has her shows that she likes to watch, listen to, or stop and dance to. The tv is always on in my house, but she isn't necesarily watching it all the time. Most of the time she is crawling around, destroying the house, and playing with her toys. But as soon as the Hot Dog song comes on at the end of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, she stops what she is doing and starts wiggling. It is so cute.
Here are Aubriella's favorite shows to watch:

Aubriella also likes some of their musicial "commericals", but not all of them. The new one with the sandwich and broccoli is not a favorite in our house. Aubriella's babysitter, whom is also my girlfriend, Misty and my sister both have downloaded some of the Choo Choo Soul songs to their phones for the girls to listen to. Maybe Santa will bring them the cd for Christmas.

Her favorite "commerical" is small potatoes, but they dont play them very often anymore.

What do your kids like to watch?

Head Stand

I have decided that Aubriella is going to be a gymnist, dancer, musician, doctor, dentist, pole dancer, ....  The gymnistis the new thing. Aubriella will go around the house and stand on her head.

She is so cute when she does it too. When she's done she will turn around to see if your looking.

She will also face her butt towards you and look between her legs at you and smile.

I have a wild one on my hands.

Trick or Treating

Last night was our local Trick or Treating. It was suppose to be last week on Halloween, but ended up getting postponed due to us getting hit by Hurricane Sandy. It worked out in my favor since I had to work last Wednesday but had off last night.
I took Aubriella out dressed as Minnie Mouse. It was a rather cold so we weren't out very long. Our Trick or Treating was suppose to be for an hour and a half, we were probably out for 45 minutes of it. 15 minutes of that was me speed walking home. Aubriella got cold and started crying. I got home as quickly as I could to get her warmed up. She was wearing layers of clothes and a had a blanket but wouldn't keep the blanket on. I should have also put gloves on her but didn't think of it. (I know I'm a horrible mom.)
I also dressed as Minnie Mouse to go Trick or Treating. I was suppose to have gone to a Halloween party this year but that didn't happen. I found a red and white polka dotted dress at Marshalls a few months back, borrowed some mouse ears and wore one of Aubriella's Minnie Mouse clips.

Once we got home and we were just sitting around the house chit chatting. Aubriella took the ears off my head and we put them on her. The ears are moldable so we made them pointed for her to look like a kitty. They didn't last on her head very long.

Five Questions Friday

I've decided to join Mama M over at My Little Life in her weekly blog hop. Every Friday she has Five Questions Friday. Its a great way to get to know other blogger's and seems like a lot of fun.

1. What terrifies you the most?
One of my worst fears is if something were to happen to my daughter or family.
2. Favorite fall/winter drink?
My favorite season drink if I am going out is a Pumpkin Swirl Latte Lite from Dunkin Donuts. It don't help that I work there and get one every day I work (which is only once a week normally)
If a staying home I enjoy a nice cup of Hot Chocolate. If its a good day with a splash of chocolate liquor or Kahula or Baileys.
3. Do you and your spouse have the same political views?
Unfortunately this doesn't apply to me currently. When I did have a spouse we did have the same political views. I however am not really into politics.
4. What was the last book you read? Was it any good?
I am currently reading the 50 Shades series. I am on the third and final book. I don't get to sit down and read very often so it is taking me a little while. I am really enjoying it.
5. Do you look forward to the snow each winter? Why or why not?
Yes I do look forward to snow. It is gorgeous the way it covers everything, hangs on the branches, and brightens the day. It likes magical winter wonderland feel. This year I can't wait to Aubriella out there to play it in for the first time.
I don't however like driving it in to much. If snow could happen without landing on the road or in parking lots it would be ideal. Also since I work at a hotel there are no snow days so I don't want to much snow to cause problems.

...

Happy 13 months to my little girl.

Cheap Toy Love

As a mom we always see all these toys that we think our children are going to like and ones we want them to like. There are so many different options for kids of all ages. There are stuffed animals, educations toys, books, fun toys, noisy toys, balls, blocks ... You just hope that when you buy your child a toy they get hours of enjoyment out of it. It doesn't always work that way though. It is amusing when kids find the most enjoyment out of objects that aren't necessarily meant to be toys.

Aubriella played in an empty diaper box the other day for what seemed like hours. She would climb in it and out of it. Sit in it and spin around. After she was done we put my niece in there, Claudia who is 7 months old and she had just as much fun too. Why do we spent hundreds of dollars on toys when she would be perfectly happy with an empty box.

Pumpkin Patch

Earlier this month I took Aubriella to the pumpkin patch. Brasee's Corn Maze and pumpkin patch is always a blast to go to and a tradition I started going to 3 years ago. I took Ella there for the first time last year when she was only a few weeks old. It is about an hour from the house. There is so much to do.

This year the weather was just right. It wasn't to cold, sun was out, and a slight breeze. Which also means it was crowded. The original plan was to have Aubriella lay in the corn pit like last year,  but there were so many bigger kids in the corn pit it didn't happen. I was able to sit her in the corner and take a quick picture though.

Aubriella also went down the straw slide a bunch of times. After that she had wild hair.

They have a petting zoo of pony's and goats. Aubriella wasn't into the goats but wanted a pony. She almost crawled into the pony's cage.

Other things for kids to do is a kids straw maze, a wooden train they can crawl through, and a pitch black crawl through straw maze. For adults there is a large corn maze. This is the first year we went it the entrance and out the exit. It only took us about 45 minutes.
There is a pick your own pumpkin patch and an already picked pumpkin field. I let Aubriella crawl over to a pumpkin for us to take home. Now just to carve it for Halloween.
