The Rash

Aubriella has come down with a horrible rash. It showed up Thursday morning on her neck than ended up spreading over most of her body. My first thought was it is the rash that is suppose to go along with the chicken pox vaccine she had gotten 10 days before. I took her to the doctor Thursday and they said it was just a rash it has to take its course. Also that there is no way to determine what caused it.

There had only been a few things different that I could think of. I had switched diaper brands since we were given some for free. Her father had also given her vitamin water and took her to the play area at the mall. Thursday night Ella would walk around for a few minutes then start to cry that her feet hurt due to the rash on the bottom of her feet. By Friday morning she now had the rash on her cheeks as well. The only place she doesn't have the rash is her forehead, nose, eyes, and under her hair. I called the doctor and waited for her to call me back.
During the waiting time Ella got a fever of at least 100. I called back spoke with a different nurse she just told me to give her ibuprofen, and benadryl that it was still probably just a rash it.

After a few hours some of her bumps had turned to welts so I took her to the local Emergency Room that has a pediatrics unit. As soon as they looked at her they knew what she had. Hand Foot and Mouth Disease. It sounds so horrible and it looks so horrible on Aubriella. The dr said she has one of the worst cases she has ever seen. Unfortunately it is a virus that just has to run it's course. We can just keep giving her medicine to help with the pain and keep her fever down. I hope it goes by quickly for her. She isn't her normal self.

With it being extremely contagious my niece who also lives with us, who is 10 months old, is going to get it. Today she has a few spots on her face and her butt. Hopefully she just doesn't get it as bad as Ella.

Has anyone else had any experience with Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease?

Wordless Wednesday

(this photo is from around Christmas time, but who doesn't love cute little painted toes. Do you paint your little ones toes?)

15 Months

Last week Aubriella had her 15 month wellness appointment. We were running a little late, so we were taken in right away. We took her to get weighed and her height checked. While waiting for the doctor come in and examine her she decided she wasn't going to sit still. Aubriella decided to run around the room and play in the little girl in the mirror. (Not a big fan of it being behind the door. I was nervous they were going to come in the room when she was standing there and hit her with the door)

Age: 15 months
Weight: 25 lbs 6.4oz (85 percentile)
Height: 2 foot 7.5inches (75 percentile)
- Aubriella is walking all over the place, but still will crazy if she wants to get there faster.
- She has turned into a chatty Cathy. The house is never quite, if it is you go find what she is getting into.
- Aubriella loves to go buy. She gets all excited to get dressed and put her shoes and leave the house. She doesn't like coming home. When we are done shopping or doing whatever it can be a fight to get her in the carseat.
- Her ears looked good. She had been in the office the week before since she kept falling while she was walking around the house. There was a lot of build up of wax in her ears and they wouldn't tell if she had an ear infection or not. They gave us drops to put in her ears every night and antibiotics just incase.
- The doctor also said she is gorgeous, looks great, and is very curious.
- She is still drinking milk out of the bottle, but does juice and water from a sippy cup. If we are out to eat she does drink out of a straw.
- Aubriella has her bully moments. She will hit and push down her cousin Claudia. She also gets jealous and I can't hold Claudia without her at my side.

2013 Goals

Its a new year, time for some new year goals for myself. I didn't keep up with any of the goals I made last year. Last year was a lot of different life changes, some very unexpected. This year I am moving on from those changes, and making my life better for myself and Aubriella.
My goals are in no particular order. There are a bunch, some little changes, other big changes. I could probably come up with more, but this is good for now.
- Open up 2 saving account. One for myself for an emergency fund and the other one for Aubriella.
- Continue eating healthy, going to the gym, limiting my fast food spending ... more on all this later.
- Read more. My goal is to read 1 book a month. Last year I read the "50 Shades of Grey" series and loved it. I want to get back into doing something I enjoy.
- Spend more time with my friends. I don't see them as often as I would like to.
- Start using coupons. Time to learn to be frugal and buying more needs and less wants.
- Track my spending. I know last year I spent a lot of money eating out and on stupid stuff. Time to budget and save.
- Floss, take my birth control, and multi-vitamin daily.
- One a very personal side get my divorce finalized and get a place of my own.

Lastly Aubriella's goal: To kick the bottle. She is 15 months and still stuck on drinking milk from a bottle. Whenever she see's Claudia drinking one she wants one too. Luckily Claudia is almost a year. They are gonna kick it at the same time if my sister likes it or not.

15 Months

I can't believe Aubriella is 15 months already. Where has the time gone. She is growing up so fast and is so smart. I swear she does something new every day. Today's thing was she walked up to me and said "Mama". She has been saying mom mom mom mom mom and mama all the time but never to me. It made me want to cry.
Also today she didn't want me to leave and go to work. When I was putting my shoes and coat on she walked over to the door and stood there so I couldn't open the door. This was the first time she physically tried stopping me from leaving. (it just breaks my heart.) My mom came and grabbed her so I could open the door and she just cried. I wish I could just be a stay at home mom on days like these.

Happy New Year

Hope everyone had a fun and safe New Years Eve. I had to work late but was home in time to watch the ball drop with my little party animal. She was wide awake when I got home at 1130. She didn't want to miss any of the excitement. She was also my New Years Eve kiss. What is better than a slobbery wet open mouth baby kiss? I know I wouldn't pass them up for anything.
By 1230 we were in bed and ready to sleep. I also had to work one of my jobs this morning so no late night partying for me.
